Marshmallow update arrives for the Galaxy Tab A 8.0

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is currently receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in Australia. The rollout finally bumps the tablet to the latest version of Android, and brings with it a whole host of new features including Doze Mode, granular app permissions and Google Now on Tap.
It’s a pretty hefty install at 1.1 GB though, so ensure you have sufficient battery and storage space before embarking on this epic update. As always, there’s a bunch of bug fixes and performance improvements on board too, so if your Tab A has been slowing down or getting a little less love than it used to, the update may well breathe some new life into your old slate.
The update also adds fingerprint support and a redesigned app drawer. The OTA rollout is happening now, but if patience is not one of your many virtues, you can manually check for the firmware update by going to Settings > About Device > Software Update > Update Now. The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 was already updated last month.
Is your tablet running Marshmallow yet? Are you psyched for Android N’s freeform windows mode?
