The rumors of BlackBerry working on two mid-ranger smartphones has been making rounds for quite a long. One of these two devices was first rumored to be codenamed as Rome but a new rumor suggested that it is instead Mercury. Now, renders of this BlackBerry Mercury (or Rome) have been leaked which show it with a physical QWERTY keypad.
The render matches the previous rumor of a BlackBerry device with a physical keyboard but it is showing the keyboard to be static. It is not the sliding one like we saw in the BlackBerry Priv. It seems like the display of the phone will also be touch supported as you can see the software-based navigation keys. Another thing to notice here is that the USB port of the phone seems to be USB Type-C port.
There are a couple of renders more which were posted on Instagram. These renders also show an almost similar design with a static physical keyboard and software-based navigation keys. One of the renders emphasises on the front camera of the phone which could be a hint that BlackBerry has either used a larger megapixels count or has implemented some tech or feature for better selfies.
At the moment, a lot of rumors are popping up which are making it difficult to decide which one to believe. We will keep you updated as more information will appear.
