Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3 announced – Zenfone on a budget

After unveiling three new devices in the Zenfone 3 range at Computex, Asus has today unveiled a fourth addition to the line-up: the entry-level Zenfone Pegasus 3. Targeted towards those who have a stricter budget, the Zenfone Pegasus 3 brings a similar metal design to its namesake siblings but compromises on the specs.
The handset features a metal unibody design akin to the rest of the lineup but the 5.2-inch display takes a drop from 1080p resolution to 720p. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Asus’s ZenfUI 3.0 on top and is powered by an octa-core CPU with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.

On the back, it has a 13MP camera with a single LED flash while for selfie-lovers, it has a 5MP front facing camera. Like the rest of the Zenfone 3 family – aside from the Zenfone 3 Ultra that is – it has a fingerprint sensor on the back and also supports dual SIM and LTE connectivity.
The whole package is powered by a monstrous 4,100mAh battery which, coupled with the lower resolution display, should mean this handset will keep you powered for days on end.

The Asus Zenfone 3 Pegasus is available in gold, rose gold, silver and gray in two options; 1299 Yuan ($197) will get you the model with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage while 1499 Yuan ($227) will get you 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Pegasus 3 is launching in China soon and availability in other markets is yet to be announced.
